With a natural reef situated just 100 yards offshore, the greater Fort Lauderdale area has become a mecca for diving enthusiasts; this reef is the 2nd most visited reef in the world - only the Great Barrier Reef of Australia is visited more. Over the past several years numerous artificial reefs have been created by the sinking of large ships. There is a wide choice of diving companies from which to choose.

The greater Fort Lauderdale area offers our guests a wide variety of challenging golf courses. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned player our Concierge will gladly suggest the right course for you.
Nature:
The Florida Everglades is only 30 minutes west of the hotel. There are many airboat tour companies to safely guide you through this wonder of nature. Chances are always very good that you'll see some alligators and chances are even better that they will see you!

July 4th, Independence Day . . . . Our way!
This year's July 4th celebration will be special indeed - a $20,000 pyrotechnic extravaganza will be produced on the waters of the Lauderdale by the Sea beach. Sponsored in part by the Lauderdale Beachside Hotel, Damon's Grill and the village of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, the fireworks show will be simply amazing. Christmas, Fort Lauderdale Style:
The annual Fort Lauderdale Winterfest Christmas Boat Parade usually occurs 2 Saturdays prior to Christmas. Nearly 200 boats of every size "put on the ritz" and deck the decks with light displays. The parade takes place on the Intracoastal Waterway where you'll find a wide variety of restaurants and lounges from which you may view the splendor of Christmas, Fort Lauderdale style!

Every year on the first or second Tuesday of December Lauderdale by the Sea celebrates Christmas in its own unique way with local talent of all kinds performing, dancing and singing their way into your hearts.
